Asia Top 100 Cafe Awards

Asia's Best Cafes - Asia Top 100 Cafe Awards

Users must register and log in to their accounts before submitting a café nomination through the nomination form.

Allows logged-in users to vote for their favourite cafés, with each user limited to one vote. The platform also displays the total number of votes received by each café to show its voting.

After the voting period ends, a dedicated results page will be published to display the final café rankings, total votes received by each café and award winners by category.

The website works smoothly on desktops, tablets and smartphones, which matters for visitors voting or browsing on mobile at the event.

The Challenges

The main challenge is ensuring that each user can vote only once per category while keeping the voting page private and accessible exclusively to registered users. Users must log in before accessing the voting function, and the system will validate each vote on the server side. Enforce a unique combination of user ID and category ID to prevent duplicate votes, even if users refresh the page or use multiple devices. The voting page must not be publicly accessible to unregistered users.

The Solutions

The project used a clear and organised website structure to manage different types of content and users. Security features such as user verification, duplicate vote detection and bot protection were included to support fair voting. Dedicated country, city and café pages were also created to improve navigation and search engine visibility.

The Asia Coffee Summit website combines a refined, professional look with the warmth of coffee culture. Deep navy sections, including the awards area with its subtle gradient, give a credible, premium feel, while soft cream backgrounds keep content light and easy to read. The colour palette includes #152339 (dark navy), #284064 (blue), #CA6244 (coffee-toned orange), #D88B74 (soft terracotta), #FFD8CD (soft peach) and #54595F (slate grey). Typography pairs Fraunces for bold, editorial headings with Inter for clean, readable body text. Orange is used for call-to-action buttons such as Vote Now, while gold laurel badges give each award category a prestigious, trophy-like look. Hand-drawn coffee illustrations, rounded image corners and pill-style tags add a friendly touch. With clear layouts and responsive design, the website works smoothly across all devices.
